Yes to both. The field is levelish — no awkward slopes or uneven ground. Access is via a wide stoned track, so there are no tight corners or awkward reversing required. Most sizes of outfit are welcome. If you have a particularly large vehicle, drop us an email first and we'll confirm suitability.
There is no WiFi on site. Mobile signal varies by network in this part of North Yorkshire — EE and Vodafone tend to have the best coverage. If you need reliable connectivity, a mobile data plan or signal booster is recommended.
The site is open from spring through to autumn. Please contact us to confirm current opening dates for the season you're planning to visit.
Dogs & Pets
Yes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome — maximum two per pitch. Dogs must be kept on leads on site at all times. The surrounding Howardian Hills countryside is excellent for dog walking, with footpaths and bridleways from the gate.
Please clean up after your dogs on site and in the surrounding fields.
Please ask when booking. We're a working farm with livestock, so any pets other than dogs need to be discussed in advance.

Local Area
Castle Howard is 3 miles from Greets Farm — a ten-minute drive, a 20-minute cycle, or a beautiful 2.7-mile walk through the Howardian Hills. Sarah and Marcus have created a full OS Maps walking route you can follow from your phone. It's one of the closest campsites to the estate. See our Camping Near Castle Howard page for more.
Yes. The Crown & Cushion in Welburn is a mile's easy stroll from the site — an 18th century village pub, dog-welcoming and very good. Dogh, an artisan bakery and café in the village, is also within walking distance and ideal for morning coffee and pastries.
